Opinions tsprof k02 vs. K03

Bought k02 and now thinking I might have been better with the k03. My dad needs a sharpener.
Anyone think it justifies getting the k02? George and Wade, I know you have your feelings about them but hoping for someone else to chime in

I will sharpen maybe once a week.

Not sure what the right move is.
Is the linion on the k03 going to be something I notice often?
Any other advantages?

Ok, I figured this out.

It's a long story which isn't worth repeating unless someone reaches this thread searching for the difference between STATES sale version of K03, which I am going to call a K02.1
George is a great guy, he steered me in the right direction, but because he is on the "cutting edge" with his inventory, the model he has on sale is different than the full price K03.

I'm with you Hickory. I've seen more than one thread that starts out with some sort of acronym or jargon and have no idea what they're talking about. It would be nice to spell things out in plain English we can all understand.
 
Okay, I hope this post will clarify things. Back in 2017 TSProf sold two models of the K02. The first had no rack and pinion mechanism for raising and lowering the post to change the sharpening angle. The second, which they called the K02 with Lifting Unit (K02 LU) had the rack and pinion. So many people bought the K02 without the LU and then tried to "upgrade" by adding a LU, which isn't possible, that I called it the K03. That way, everyone understood them to be two, basically different models. Fast forward to June 2019...at Blade Show 2019 in Atlanta, Paul and I showed the New K03 (my name to not confuse with the K03). TSProf simply calls it the K03. I am including a picture of each model. Only the New K03 is sold today. The New K03 has a rectangular cross section vertical post with double dovetails.
