I'm looking for an inexpensive neck-knife to carry around (maybe clipped to my pocket) for a while. These seem like the best options available and i would appreciate any input. I'm leaning towards the SOG because of the kydex sheath and bottle-opening feature.

I have the F4.
I love it.
I don't wear it around the neck, but I've clip it to the belt, put it in my boot. It's near perfect in a sense that if the handle is a bit longer to park your pinky, then it would be perfect.
The knife is really handy.
I polished mine with sandpaper ;)

sog outline love the bottle opener! (not) in a twist off world its about as useful as women's room in a gay bar. Now the CRKT stiff kiss thats a good neck knife. Thats what Id recommend. I cord wrapped mine and its great!

haven't seen the sog in real life...but I have the F4 and I think it's a great knife...good grip...
I got mine mainly as a backup knife for when my AFCK was dull when I was working at the warehouse...

inexpensive and easy to sharpen..

my fav necker is a livesay 'woo', they run $35 or so, come w/an excellent sheath, a lot of bang for the buck, #2 would be a cammilus arclite, a little cheaper, still a good knife/sheath - dont like the sheath on the KISS and the F4 is too small for my hand, and i dont know what the sheath looks like, but if CRKT got it right, it would be the first time they did on a sheath imho, all CRKT sheaths i have seen (ie companion, KISS)were 2nd rate imho, dont have a clue why.....? companion is an excellent knife, w/2 sheaths, neither one any good - why not have ONE good sheath??

ya cant go wrong w/a woo

I ordered a MOD Scorpion today, i had some credit i hadn't accounted for and the Scorpion seems like a better package than the competition. I'm looking forward to receiving it in a few days. :) It should tide me over for a few weeks until my Perrin La Griffe arrives :D

I like the CRKTs because of the good value for money. The F4 is NOT the favourite knife in my collection as it's very small to be of any great use to me at least. I prefer my Stiff Kiss which is better suited to the hand. I haven't seen the SOG yet but I like all their stuff. The Outline does seem small but the kydex sheath could sway my vote that way.

However, there's a recent CRKT neck knife with a really cool sheath that isn't even mentioned here - the Ryan Plan B. Check that out...
