I saw a Sebenza on Neil's website, True North Knives, and saw a Seb I just couldn't resist. I left hand large Classic Micarta inlay with the new (relatively) serrations! Just what I've been looking for! I got one when they first came out and it just so happenned that the first ones didn't have serrations. So I had a choice of getting one quick and waiting for a while to get one with serrations. So I got one quick that hapenned to be the plain edge one. Well yesterday I saw I Neil's website a large left hand Classic Micarta with serations! I gave him a call and I should be getting in tomorrow. I've always wanted one so I pulled the trigger. I'm really coureous how the serratins work. I 've heard good things about them. I'm generally a plain edge kind of guy but I just like the way the serrated one looks. It just has an "attidude " that I like. I'll post impressions tomorrow niight if I'm not too tired! Now it looks lie I'll have one of each ;) :D

OoOoOhh...if your review is favorable to the new teeth, I may pull the trigger on a RH version :D

Do share the impressions and congrats :D

Thanks and I will post my impressions ASAP. The Micarta Inlays are not easy to find in stock and a left hand serrated one was just too good pass up. I got it mostly because it looks cool and I've heard good things from those that have gotten the new serrations.

Nice score Scott,

I'm not a fan of serrations in general on a knife, only because they perform specific tasks. Most serrations on a knife seem to get in the way more than anything under normal cutting circumstances IMO.

The Zulu serrations on a large Sebenza are a completely different animal here though. I really like them, and you will too. The main reason is the serrations are cut so that you can sharpen them using conventional techniques. Sharpen the blade as you normally would and the serrations will be sharp as well! Also, getting back to the usefullness of a Seb with them; on a large, there is plenty of plain blade to use before getting to the serration portion of the knife. If you need to go futher for heavier cutting tasks, the serrations are there.

Have fun with it. It's cool you found a left handed, micarta version so fast. Neil's a great guy to deal with.

This is slightly off-topic, but I just wanted to throw in another two cents and give a heartfelt thanks to Neil myself after my experience last week of ordering and receiving my Shadow III from his website. His email reply was almost instantaneous, he was incredibly clear and professional, and the knife got to my place about fifteen seconds after I ordered it. I was floored by that level of service. Keep up the good work, Mr. Ostroff!

Now the rest of you can kindly shut the hell up about your cool Sebenzas right now, before you get me in even more trouble with my wife. Thank you.

NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!:D

I got the knife yesterday from TNK. Very nice and Neil is a great guy to deal with. I haven't had a chance to use it much yet but I will soon. I also don't usually like serrated knives but on the Micarta inlay I just think it gives it a cool look. I like it!

Hey Scott, is this the newest member to your CRK clan?

Thats really cool looking, and I bet functions even better. Thats just about the ultimate user Sebenza IMO. Heres mine, just came back from the CRK shop, I had them upgrade it to Blue thumblugs and Matte Screws.
The other one is my new, old stock, CGG..Trailing Moon. Its one of my favorite Computer Graphics.

Great looking Scott.

I really liked the Micarta classic we had on passaround, I might have to get one.

I also love the matte screws, Maybe I'll get that, and see if they have a grey thumblug option (probably don't but I may ask anyway)

Blackend, I wish I had a compass like that on all my knives -I wouldn't get lost nearly as often !!!

Yeah, there's a Polish/blond joke somewhere here. I won't go there though.
