I used to get steel analyzed at a specific lab, and even recommended them here several times, but their prices have doubled since the last time (probably to pay for their snazzy new website).

It used to be 25 bucks, so if I had a free 50 lb supply of steel I could know what it was for 50c a lb... great price, where I live 1075 costs 3.50/lb plus large sales tax and shipping (gets worse when I order it from across the border).

Does anyone know of a lab that analyzes for less?

BTW my best score was 200 lb of A8mod for the price of a 25$ analysis woot woot

no, I wish!!! That's why I go to the trouble of loading my truck with stuff like veneer blades and old 54" saw blades, but then have to get them analyzed. PM me sometime, maybe I can talk a couple guild members into a group buy from somewhere and you can join in.
