I started with a 3.3" blade and have been slowly increasing the size of my carry folder. I'm now up to 4" and I don't know that I'm done yet.

What do you guys think is the perfect folder length? What's the BIGGEST folder you're comfortable carrying every day?

Biggest folder i carry is 4inches. Perfect size for me, well the blade can varry its more of a handle size and balance thing. I been carrying a 3.5 but have a emerson cqc7 coming and thats 3.3.

Since I'm forced to carry just a 3" blade length folder due to L.A. city limits I've gotten used to it and I'm pretty adept with folders in the 2.5"-3" range. You adapt!

Given a choice about 3.4"-3.5" is quite a workable blade length for me at all times.

When I go out to the range I like the 4" ones likes Spyderco Military, Benchmade Contego, Fantoni HB 01 and MicroTech Socom Elite.

4" is my preferred blade length. The largest I'll carry is 4.5" and the smallest is 3.13", though I don't like to go that small. Were laws and attitudes towards knives different here, I would EDC a Cold Steel Espada XL and my Recon Tanto or Gurkha Kukri. I do not give a damn.

3 inch is the max I carry when I'm going out anywhere cause of local laws, when I get out to our property and don't need to go back to town I'll switch over to anywhere between a 3.4-3.75" blade

Low to mid 3", the Cryo at 2.75" is really as small as I'd want (I really like mine though, so I'm really looking forward to the Cryo 2), and the 056x at 3.75" is getting close to my limit for a normal use EDC. I really want the 0566 to hurry up and get here already. Having 3.25" blade, that's pretty much ideal for me. (I know the 1556 will be the same blade length, but I'm much more pumped about the 0566 because of it's blade steel).

Ideal blade length for me would be...the diameter of an average apple, so about 3 to 4 inches.

Any shorter, the food I cut tend to get onto the handle / into the pivot.
Any longer, office people tend to get nervous.

3.5" for me. Give or take a quater inch.

Yep, that's accurate for me. When I owned a PM2 I kinda decided that I didn't want anything smaller than that, which I think was 3.3". When I wander up to 4" it seems a bit excessive, bulky, frightening (to certain folks in public). I used to EDC my Adamas which I believe was 3.8" - for as bulky as it is, the blade length just seemed appropriate. Definitely near my upper limit though.

I don't go by blade length, I buy mine by the handle length. I have very large hands, and most smaller knives don't allow me to get all my fingers on the handle. Usually end up having to buy knives that are 3.75" - 4". Damn sausage fingers.

2 - 3" blade. 4" is the legal limit where I live but anything over 3.5" is more than I want anyway.

3.5" is the ideal size for an EDC folder. The blade is large enough to perform virtually any task, even hard use tasks, but small enough for easy carry and detail work.

I like 4 the best but will carry a 3.5 as well but thats as small as I go. My hands cant grip the smaller knifes.
