Which knife would YOU buy? I am looking at these two. Maybe I will change my mind but...... these two stuck out for me. The right price range too. I definitely like the rosewood. pros cons

Bear & Son Midsize Lockback Knife Rosewood (2.75" Satin) 205R $40

If you're seriously considering this one, maybe get a Buck 112, 55, or 503 Prince model. They'll be a better knife for only $20-30 more.

Bear and son Make junk. I know they're made in the United States Jacksonville Alabama ,but that don't mean they ain't junk cuz they are. I bought one a few years ago looked at it send it back. It was the most horrible craftsmanship that I ever seen come out of the states. I definitely would not buy one in fact you couldn't give me one. As others had said save your money and buy a quality knife. You'll be better off in the long run and much happier.

I tried to like Bear and Son, but I was disappointed both times I bought one of their knives. In my opinion, a Buck 501 is a better value, in spite of the greater cost.

The only reason to buy the Myerchin is if you want a marlinspike. And if you want a marlinspike, the A.G. Russell Sea Skorpion is easily worth the higher price of $68.

Well, you all have convinced me to do a rethink on this. I’m not sold on Buck being my ultimate option but apparently everyone on this site owns a 110 or 112. I’m generally not a fan of following amazingly large crowds off of cliffs but maybe if I don’t see the cliff edge I’ll be ok.

You could have gotten the buck 110 on amazon or another website with free shipping for about 60-70 bucks. So I would say you only slightly overpaid. Buying from their website directly does support the maker even more, and it is a USA maker so you are supporting USA made knives.

like slice of Life said You overpaid by a little nothing to worry about and nothing to cry over, you should like it when you get it
and it should last you until you're in the grave, if not ...it's guaranteed for life. I'm sure it's made in Idaho

Ok well I did it. Bought the Buck 110 drop point from their website at $83 shipped and taxed. So, did I overpay?
The classic Bucks are a lot of knife for the money, you did well.

Maybe later you could consider a 55 for those times when a 110 is more knife than you want for the occasion.
