I have a Dell Plasma 42'' display unit. It has but one HDMI input, I also have attached one HD Direct receiver, One PVR (Phillips), Sony DVD, Sony VCR, using a Samsung Stereo receiver. I want to mount the Plasma above the mantle on a large brick fireplace. I do have 120v located in mantle below center of where the plasma will be. Now to the how to question. Any way to transmit all the different inputs to the Dell WIRELESSLY? I have seen HDMI transmitters and receivers, but how about all the analogs? I do not want to drill through the brick and run all the wires to the components which now sit below the plasma. It would be about a 4 foot drilling situation with a hole large enough to accommodate 5 input cables. Can it be done wireless? Any of you geeks ever done something like this?

BTW: The reason for two direct tv units is sometimes my wife has 2 shows recording at one time and we need 3 to record. I use the HD for my ball games and other nature programs where the HD really brings out the picture. My wife does not care, her sight is not sharp enough to see any difference.

Thanking you for your help in advance. Links to appropriate total solutions would be appreciated. If I need additional wireless receivers, I think I could handle that.

Non Geek, Dumb at all this mess,
Jim

There is no wireless HDMI, because HDMI is a massive signal that is way beyond the capability of basic consumer wireless signals.

And analog is going away after December 31 of this year; if you have a Blu-Ray player already with analog connections to a TV, you should be seeing those signals turned off within the next two months. Yes, even with an existing box working perfectly. The industry is going all digital, and you're coming along with.

Short of a wiremold-type solution to hide your cabling, or finding some way to create a chase through the wall behind your brick work to feed your cabling down, there isn't much you can or should do, in my book.
