I am curious to know if any of you have seen a knife like this before. Supposedly, Schrade started making some strange knives right before closing down in 2004. This particular knife I received without a box or papers. It has a Schrade + Heritage blade, with a Colt logo as you can see.

I'm also wondering if Schrade made other knives with branded logos in the handles?? I have to ask here because I can't find anythingonline about it. Thanks very much for any information on these Schrade specially-branded knives.

I haven't seen that Cold before either. But I have seen Old Timers and other Schrade knives with advertising shields for companies and organizations. Skoal, FFA, Copenhagen, Ducks Unlimited, etc.
 
I remember seeing this one up for auction. I believe you are right in thinking this one was assembled in 2004 from surplus parts. The Heritage blade with the Colt logo makes me think parts from two knives. Nice knife none-the-less!

As far as other branded logos are concerned,, Schrade filled orders for lots of organizations. Some that come to mind are Ducks Unlimited, Skoal and Copenhagen (US Tobacco), Tharpe, Ruger, Hoffritz, LL Bean, Ace Hardware, Snap-On Tools, Matco Tools; the list goes on and on...
