Orange coloring on blade ?

Just got my 2nd factory second Ontario sk4 and both have a orange coloring not spots but almost like a spray painted orange color on exposed steel between scales and on spine of blade. It doesn't affect function since I've used my first one a ton and is awesome. I originally thought it may be rust but couldn't remove any of it. Could coloring be related to heat treat or surface contamination during forging? I'd post a picture but phone is not cooperating.
