This is two slabs superglued together for the hole drilling. I used my Esky to trim the fat on this slab.

Roughing it out on my BK 2. I think I'm using 100 grit paper at this point.

This pic shows how I trace around the nuts before cutting the nut corners out.

Finished, thats 320 grit paper it's been sanded to. I did take them off and go to 400 grit after this but it's almost too smooth now.

I may go back to 320 grit. I think I'll make this my Search & Rescue Knife. Maybe add some Orange Paracord to it.

sweet job!
How did you manage the glueing, and how long did it take to set up?

very nice! you just need an orange kydex sheath for that and you're in business.

Good looking stuff man!

Out of curiosity, why is it most go with tan, black, or orange? Anyone have anything else in different colors?

man those are great. If you ever want to make another set let me know! would love to have you make me a set

Orange is certainly popular these days. Most people say it is for high visibility, but I just think there is something appealing to the contrary nature of using such a garish color on a knife. At least, that is secretly why I like it.

Nice work, man! Looks like No-Knife March has gotten you all crafty. Way to channel the energy, kick ass!

It seems like common colors, check out my color scheme on my BK2 youtube.com/bosshawg916 awesome job though

I don't know but blue denim micarta looks sweet

And those orange slabs are beautiful, very nice work!

One of you folks was asking about the glue. It was Titebond brand cyano acrylate. Basically superglue. I put 3 dabs on the inner contact sufaces, which I had already sanded smooth. Lined em' up, pressed em' together and it set in about 20 seconds.

And whomever asked why orange?
You know good question, I'm not a huge fan of that color, but I was doing a lot of reading here on the forums and people kept asking for it.

I may do one more set of orange pretty soon just cause I have the rags already dyed and paid for, taking up space. Their not exactly the color I was looking for. These new ones will be orange rags with clear resin
Whereas the ones pictured in this thread are natural canvas rags with a tinted resin.

I'd be curious to see the difference.

Really nice work. What did you use to cut the nut corners out with?
