Hey guys, I remember when Ontario came out with the tan and OD handles for the rat 1, they made orange handle scales as well. However, I cannot find them on any of the larger knife websites. Does anyone know where I can find one? Thanks a lot

The orange handled ones were done exclusive for www.knifeworks.com which is the web site for a brick and mortar in Columbia, Louisiana, and their sold out with no more being available or on order. It's over, sorry.

Knifeworks was the ones to get them. They were exclusive to them. I got myself the orange and black PE one. Watch the exchange and you might see one go up for sale.

Yeah I have been looking everyday for either that or one of the Utilitac II's with the more squared off handle in the plain tanto. I want a big knife, ha.

If you just like the look, you may be able to get one with the Desert Tan handles and dye (Rit Dye - the tablets, not the liquid) them orange. I've never done this, but I have seen videos of people dying FRN and G-10 and they came out looking great. The Rat-1's scales are 'Nylon 6', so it may work. However, if you were just interested in posessing that actual model, please disregard that suggestion.
