Thanks for the pictures! I was on Ocas once, it's a very memorable place. There's a sweet 'castle tower' right at the top which has the most amazing killer views. Might be time for a little family trip to the US.

I lived on San Juan Island for a few months back in the early '90s. The San Juan chain is very pretty. When I was there, some of the islands were still nicely undeveloped, and I think there was inexpensive and pretty wildernessy, forest-covered land available for fairly low prices. Maybe not on the big islands like San Juan and Orcas so much as, say, Lopez. What's it like nowadays--anyone know?

I have fond memories of sitting on the western/southwestern side of San Juan, with its steep slope into the ocean, looking across at the Olympic Peninsula or over toward Vancouver Island, seeing some of the lights there in the evening.

Great pics , I love seeing that side of the country , thanks for sharing :D
I like the sticker on your tail gate too

Yeah, orcas sure is a beautiful place, and it seems like more and more people are fiding that out. Which is a shame i think. Too many vacation houses.
My ma bought some land in the early 90's which was pretty much unimproved. I think she had two neighboors at the time. Now theres construction on four sides of her property. Shes got two buildings of her own as well.

I'll probably be going out again this week and taking more pics.

oh yeah, Annie, yep, shes an English Mastiff. A little small for her breed weighing in at only 150lbs or so.

It should remind you of pitdogs area, since in the beach pic you can pretty much see vancouver island :) ok well maybe you cant really see it, but you can see the lights of vancouver at night.
