Ordered my first custom 110. I think the fit and finish of production knives are outstanding, but what will ring my chimes when I get my custom around Christmas? What will I find different? I got a s30v blade indigo wood finish with silver nickel bolsters. I would be real interested to see what ya'll have to say, thanks much!

This is what will ring your chimes- a s30v blade indigo wood finish with silver nickel bolsters!!! You picked what you would like!

Any handle rivets? Fingergrooves?
Almost all 110's have great F&F, but the customs have "better" options ;)

Please post pics when it arrives! I am really kicking around the idea of ordering a indigo myself ;)

BTW you will love it! :D

Oops forgot I did get finger grooves, no rivets. Thanks sir! I will indeed post pics.

Well, just the feeling of getting your own custom made knife is awesome. plus your knife is unique, everyone can go out an buy a run of the mill 110 but you have something that you customized. plus the s30v blade steel is better than the regular 420hc that is used in normal buck 110's. fit and finish wise: you would be more likely to find a problem with a regular buck 110 than a custom (although you chances of finding any problems are extremely slim). im also getting my first buck 110 custom for Christmas this year and i cant wait :)

I have several 110's from the Custom Shop and I can honestly say that the fit and finish is great, but not noticibly better than the production or LE models. That's not a knock on the Custom Shop but a tribute to how good a job Buck does on even the production line knives.

The main plus with a Custom in my opinion, is that you get to pick your poison, not that the fit and finish is better.

True. you have A LOT more experience than I do with buck 110's (im only 15). I have only handleled about 5 or 6 and am getting my first one (its a custom :D) for Christmas.

Congradulations! I own one of the custom 110's. It's Fiji Orangewood, nickel, rivets, S30v and I love it. It was one of the fellas here that had a photo of one and I liked right off.

I have two Alaska Guides as well.

I ordered a 110 in the Fiji back when they still had BG42.
NS, no rivets and FG. Intended to make it a user, but just in time, found that Buck discontinued BG42 so it now lives with the other collectibles.

The Orangewood grows on you.

I really love the indigo and nickle-silver.
It's just such a lovely combination IMO.

For the asking price, I don't think that anyone could be disappointed in a Custom Shop Buck 110.

And best of all, they really aren't that common, so you don't see "your knife" on everyone else's hip all the time.
Of all my knives, it's my CS 110's that get the most compliments and positive remarks from others.

Good luck,
Allen

I just got mine, and I can tell you that the fit and finish are absolutely excellent. It's a beautiful knife, in my opinion.
