Ordered a BK 15!

So, last night I was talking to my girlfriend about how I wanted to get a new knife. I was looking around at less expensive ones (less than $20, then less than $35, then less than $40, then less than $55), when I decided to take the plunge. I have wanted a bk15 since I first saw one last year. But when the time came to place the order, I was torn on which one to get. It was a hard decision, deciding between the 15 and the 17. Weird thing is, I hadn't really given a second glance to the 17 before. So, instead of deciding which one to get, it became deciding which one to get first. I'm pretty excited about it. It will be my second Becker, and I can't wait to receive it.
On a side note; I was wondering how the 15 stacks up against carving, bushcrafting, or other uses out in the woods. I haven't been able to find an in-depth hard-use review, so if you can point me in the direction, I would be very appreciative. Thanks, all.

All I'll say is mine does everything I expect it to do. I don't expect it to chop or pry anything because the blade simply isn't designed for that. Think of it as a weaponized steak knife. It's a lean mean slicing machine just like its big sister the BK-5. It's like a kitchen knife that's built stout enough to take on extended wilderness adventures. It's great for skinning and slicing meat. It's outstanding for cleaning fish. It's rugged enough to carve or whittle hardwood. I suspect it will be a perfect scalping knife when the government collapses.

Thanks for the reply! I don't plan on using it for prying or chopping or even batonning for that matter (I have other things for that), but it will be seeing a lot of time in the kitchen, carving, and just messing around outdoors. I live in an apartment in a college town, so I only get to do stuff outdoors when I drive thirty miles to my girlfriend's mom's acreage. They have a treeline around the property, but that's what it is like for trees in this area-only around properties. I think that I'm going to like the BK-15!
 
It sounds as if you have the right expectations for the blade and I think it will work well for you....MJCARP has it exactly right......

One of the best midsized woods knives and much overlooked. My guess is, you'll love it.
 
BK-15 is a FINE blade. You will love it & come to wonder how you got along without it for so long. It will be your new go-to knife in the kitchen. In fact, you will like it so much, you WILL want a BK-5 to go with it !!! You have been warned. LOL :D
