I just ordered a Battle Rat. I bought one when they first came out. For some reason I sold it and now regret doing so. I'm looking forward to it! Did the early ones have a convex edge? I don't remember that. I do remember the tip was sharpened on top. I think they stopped doing that.

Hi AF!

Glad to hear that you're getting your Battle Rat back. They are a workhorse of a blade. They do still come with a convex edge, though some occaisionally sneak out with v edges, and I'm not certain where they are at with the penetrator tips. For a while they were standard on the larger blades, but they may have gotten away from that.

If you wanted yours to have the PT I would give Eric an email. He'll make certain that you get your blade the way you want it.

my Battle Rat has a penetrator tip, I bought it less than a year ago.

Thanks guys, looking forward to it. I'm debating whether I should request that the edge be thinner than normal. These big blades can be a bear to reprofile on a stone. What do you think?
