As the title says just ordered a camp nessmuk. There are a few thing about this knife that are special to me, firstly and most important my father has cancer and he is terminal. He wanted to get me something special that I will use, and this was my suggestion. Second I've only heard awesome things about the knives that Mr. Andy Roy makes, and to me more importantly to me again from what I've heard his handles are as close to perfect as can be had. Third and last, my first handmade knife.

As a side note the exchange currently sucks!

Welcome home, Sig_Op. I know many of us bonded with our fathers or a mentor with a blade. The Camp Nessie is a nicely designed Fiddleback. May it serve you well.

The camp Nessie is a special knife, that was almost extinct a few years ago. Since Andy started making them again, IMO every single one is special. The camp Nessie was my first grail knife, and has always shared a special place in my heart (along with the woodsman). Given the circumstances under which you have received yours, I have no doubt that this will be a special knife for you as well. Enjoy it in good health, and take good care of it, as it will likely take good care of you out on the trail.

Welcome to the family

My first handmade knife was also a Fiddleback. Every time you use it, no doubt you will think of your dad... What a special connection. Welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard. I'm sorry to hear about your father. Andy's knives are special, and I'm sure the Camp Nessie will serve you well, and remind you of your father every time you use it. Please post some pics when you get it.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, and I'll be sure to post some pictures when I receive it.

I am sorry to hear about your father.

I got my first Camp Muk a few weeks ago. The design is great and I am very happy with the knife so far. I have yet to put it to work, but am totally confident that it will take whatever I do to it. It is a powerful knife that looks cool AND is imminently functional; it is a great example of what Andy / Fiddleback is all about.

Post up pics and let us know how you like it.

Welcome to the Fiddleback Forum. If you hang around here you will find that it is a pretty cool place filled with really good people.

sorry about your dad also. i've been through that and continue using the pocket knife he got me to gut deer even though i have better knives now.
god bless
