Can't go wrong with those Mike :).., but the wait will be hard....

I always go back and look at Dozier's designs and think about making the move......

some folks have characterized his Straight Personal as the ideal urban carry knife.

His sheaths are very well conceived and made. There was a time when he did a whole lot of sheath-making, even for others.

Five months is a real b*tch, but - If you can forget you ordered it, it'll be like, "Whoa!! Look what just got delivered!!" A beautiful Dozier!

I'm not sure of Mr. Dozier's show schedule, but sometimes, if you catch him just a few days before he leaves for a show, you can snag a nice model right then and there - no waiting, 'cept for shipping time.

I have one of his Straight Personals. I took it to a soccer tournament I was doing volunteer work at. Used it to zip open bag after bag of ice. One of the soccer dads saw it and "swiped" it from me. It got passed from dad to dad. They all thought it was a pretty cool little knife. All but a few thought it was way expensive though.

Kwaiken56 - Dozier's are some of the most reasonably priced! The dads didn't have any frame of reference to compare it to. They probably figured, hey - I can get a similar sized knife in K-Mart for $4.95!!

Boink...I think he can keep his prices down because he chooses not to spend the time needed to put a finer finish on his blades. Some knife users I think prefer a smoother finish, but to me, his blades are just fine, and hell-for-sharp! Interestingly, the bulk of his work years ago were actually high-end knives.

The dads out at the fields who didn't gasp at the price were hunters who knew the value of a fine handmade. One guy had a Morseth. Another a couple of Randalls.

Good thing I didn't tell them - even the hunters - just how much I've spent on custom Emersons!!:D
