I ordered a custom mini griptilian for my mom's birthday. I placed the order yesterday. This is the first custom I have ordered from Benchmade. I'm very excited to get it in.
She is a huge fan of an online safari. This safari streams twice a day from Kruger National Park in South Africa and she watches every day. When she was going through chemo and multiple surgeries for breast cancer, those safaris were the things she looked forward to everyday. So the knife I got has zebra stripes on the blade (zebras are her favorite animal and they see lots on the safari), and the handles are OD green on one side and sand on the other, to give it a safari look.
I know this is kind of out there for a knife, but I'm pretty sure she's going to love it.
I had some questions while designing the knife, and called Benchmade. To my surprise, the phone was answered by an actual person! They were incredibly helpful, and definitely gave me confidence that I'm buying from a great company.
