Ordered a Karambit directly from Emerson Knives, noticed something weird.

Two weeks ago I put myself on the wait list on Emersonknives.com for a black fixed blade karambit. Last week I was emailed that they had one in stock and immediately placed the order. I just recieved it today and noticed the year on the engraving was stamped 2010. It is not a big deal, as the knife is perfect, but considering I was placed on a wait list barely two weeks ago, why would they assumingly manufacture a knife and stamp it with 2010? Or am I missing something. Has anyone else received knives from them from old years, is it a normal occurrence?

Hmm, that is a bit odd. Suppose they got it back from one of their dealers in order to fill your order? More likely, they found it somewhere in inventory. Honestly I dunno'

Emerson uses older knife blades if they happen to stumble upon a stash of unused blades for their folders. I'm guessing the same thing applies to their fixed knives too.

I've noticed this has happened a couple times recently. Just this week they posted on Facebook that they found some Specwar blades and are going to build them up and sell them. If I remember correctly some of these blades are already dated, either 2001 or 2002. Thats probably what happened with the K-bits.
