Well, in an effort to help Case out of their current financial situation, I placed an order with gp knives for a Small Texas Jack. I know it is a small purchase and I wish I could do more, but I figure if I buy a new Case every month, at the end of the year it is enough to pay one employee for at least a weeks wages.
I have owned one before and love the design, anyone esle out there have a special place for the texas jack?
Would love to see pictures, I like looking at the differences in the amber bone. I know someone on this forum dyed theirs and it looked great with nice green hughes, I might try something like that with mine. Anybody done any modifications to theirs?

Don't have a picture, but the small texas Jack is a great pattern and size. I love mine.

I ordered a humpback whittler in black G-10 and a Med Chestnut bone stockman in CV.

OK. I will post some pictures of a Amber Bone Texas Jack.

Thanks Bill! I picked up Texas Jack that looks almost identical to yours last week but haven't taken a photo yet. The pen blade was "beefier" than I was expecting. I like it.

I too used the Case Co. woes, as an excuse... uh, good reason lol to buy a Chestnut CV Muskrat today, my first knife in this pattern. Hope the other companies stay strong as I'll go broke having to bail them out.:D

I know what you mean, it isn't easy to buy new Case knives, but it has to be done:D.

After admiring buck fan's pic, I have come to the conclusion that it would be the perfect knife if the following conditions are met

1. taper the blade thickness at the point, like my 8OT, nice and thin

2. round off the bolsters, like the yeller handle CV med stockman, I think it would carry better and I just like round bolsters

3. move the pen to the mark side, I like being able to get to either blade without flipping the knife over. A long pull on the master blade would naturally follow this change

4. offer more handle choices, I would like to have one in brown sawcut bone or stag

5. don't polish the snot out of it, leave sharper lines and finish with 800 grit or stonewash.

One can only dream about this so I guess I will have to make do with Case's version;).

I just bought a yellow handled CV Slimline Trapper.
