i know mr. emerson has to make the knife by hand, and i know there is a long list of orders he has to fill.
so im just looking for some feedback on how long it might have taken for others to recieve theres..
i found a A-100 stone washed, on newgram last night. i ordered it as fast as i could and now its in the hands of ups as i type :)
so that will hold me over quite nicely till the cqc7 arives.

I suggest you call Knifecenter. My gut feel is that they didn't have it in stock and now it's on back order.

If KC's listing didn't say it was in stock to ship in 1-2 days then you're subject to the availability of the knife from their source. As the gentleman above suggested you should contact the vendor.

As others have mentioned, if it was on backorder, you have to wait until Emerson makes it. Emerson makes models in batches, so it could be several months. I know that when I ordered a Combat Karambit last year, it took about 3 months for it to come back in stock.

I think a lot of people are in the same boat. If you ever call EKI to ask about when a certain model number will be made, they can give you an approximate date. I called yesterday about the CQC 7's and they gave me the 6-8 week timeframe. I think it would be cool if EKI would show ETA's of their knives on their website, post a schedule of knives made somewhere, or "tweet"/"Facebook" some info. Something like that would be worth it's weight in gold lol. But... perhaps it's their business strategy to keep things quiet too.

I've been waiting for a back ordered large Micarta Sebenza for 5 months. I have all you beat ;)

I hate to rub salt in anyone's wounds, but I just picked up a nearly-new Mini-Commander for ninety dollars, and it arrived in three days.

I've bought quite a few Emersons through ebay and from various classifieds; I've always had a good price and rapid shipping. I've had a couple of knives that were very well used and were advertised as such, but the price was right and in my experience the Emersons are still a good deal even after having been beaten around the patch a few times. Most of the ones I've ordered have been used but in nearly new condition, always at a substantial savings (even when having the blade reground, or other work done).
