Ordered a Victorinox Swisstool RS and I'm kinda stoked about it.

Several weeks ago I inquired which Swiss Tool would be a good replacement for a Leatherman Super Tool I've carried for years. the answer was one of the fullsize models Victorinox offers.

Felinevet contacted me via e-mail and quoted a price. Now, jump to this last Saturday. I was using my Super Tool to pry open Some old paint cans so I could dry up the leftover paint in them in order to throw them away. On the last can I broke the large flat screwdriver off at the base:mad: .

So,I thought what the hell, I sent FelineVet another e-mail asking if the price was still good. Within a couple of hours he responded and said my RS model would be shipped out today. So I sent payment Saturday night.

To be honest i didn't expect FelineVet to respond until sometime this week. Wow talk about customer service! And on Easter Weekend to boot.

Now I've never considered a multitool something to get excited over. For some reason tho, I can't wait to get my new Swiss Tool!
Thanks FelineVet!!

I don't know what the RS is, but I do know you picked the right guy to buy it from..
You are in for a nice surprise when you get to put a Vic to work.
I can't stand the anticipation of waiting.. I emailed him back and asked for a rush shipment, but then I probably live farther from him than you..:)

You'll be happy with the RS. It's the only multi-tool I've lost and replaced with the same one, and felinevet is the only Vic dealer I'm going with from now on.

I think my next multitool will be one of the Victorinox models for a change. They receive too many enthusiastic reviews to ignore.

Not to pick a fight, but I would never use a good screwdriver, let alone a multitool's screwdriver bit to pry off paint can lids. That's a job for a small pry bar, e.g., a Stanley Wonder Bar.

Perhaps your old SuperTool would be repaired under warranty. Don't discard your old SuperTool without checking with Leatherman. I, too, have an original SuperTool and hold it in high regard.

I know, I know I really shouldn't have abused the leatherman like that. I've edc'ed it for so many years I've sorta taken it for granted. I'm going to continue using it at work for awhile. I hate bring a new personal tool into the enviroment I work in.

The Leatherman has served me well,The Swiss tool will,I think have a few more features that'll be a little more usefull.

Please let us know what you think of it when you get it.

Awesome guy and I think of him everytime I use my swiss card. :)
I need to order something from him soon......

You made a good decision on the RS , its the one i carry most of the time , i have a Spirit too but tend to carry it when i want something a bit lighter depending on what im wearing . I find the Spirit more elegant than the std swisstool and dare i say it a little more in touch with its feminine side :D
The RS curved rescue blade outshone a Spyderco Atlantic Salt with Serrated edge and a Sebenza in a test i done yesterday on a pair of trousers (pants) . Starting at the bottom of the leg with the blade edge facing upwards the swisstool zipped up the leg in one quick move the Sebenzas tip slipped out half way and the Spyderco snagged 3 times .
Heres another little story that i used the swisstool for although this was a standard swisstool with the spearpoint serrated blade http://www.britishblades.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18701

Swisstool Spirit is the way to go.

It can be when you want a lightweight medium size tool but there are times when you just want the biggest strongest tool you can lay your hands on plus the curved serrated rescue blade on the RS is perfect for its job and when that becomes a reason for carry the the RS suits me better :D
