Just ordered my first bark river knife. Got the woodland special as the size was just right for what I was looking for.

I noticed the sheath has a firesteel holder on it and was wondering what size that would be or if someone could recommend a fire steel to me that would fit.

Thanks for the help

Bark River sells firesteels that fit, I'm pretty sure any of the 12k strike rated firesteels will work though.

Fire steels comes in different sizes.

But though not having seen the sheath, as you didnt see fit to post a pic for some reason, Im sure this generic type would fit.
The 'Swedish Firesteel' is of a type often used.

Don't even know where to find a pic. Wasnt listed on the site that I saw. I had to see it in a youtube video. Just assumed someone with bark river knife experience would probably know what I didn't. As luck turned out someone did.

Thank you very much. Didnt even think to look for a Bark River fire steel.

Glad to help. The bark river firesteels cost about twice as much, but they are offered to match whatever handle material that you chose for your knife. The Light My Fire firesteels are pretty well made, but come with a simple plastic handle for around $20.

Yes sir I see that now. I am really liking that I can get a matching one and think I will go that route. Probably will never use it but it will look great matching the knife handle.

Thanks again for the help!

Congratulations on the BRKT knife, if it's your first one, it likely won't be alone for long.

I think Bark River sell their own custom fire steels to match the handle of ur knife.....

This ^ You can even get them with liners to completely match the handle.

Thanks guys, I picked up the Bark River firesteel in green micarta to match the handle on the knife.

Not really for sure if I will like the sheath or not. Just looking at it, it doesn't appeal to me all that well but a lot of times after getting something in I really like so holding off on any sheaths just yet. Haven't seen any anyways for it yet.

We'll see, I really like my ESEEs and the Fallknivens I've picked up are some cutting machines compared to anything else I've ever had. If the barkies turn out like I think they will, I'll be back for some more of them. Got plenty of knives but I really like those blades that come in between 3 to 3.5 inches so looking at more.

Thanks again for everyone's help!

Hope your BRKT fire steel fits, but I doubt it will (at least, not without some SERIOUS leather stretching!)... I have several BRKT fire steels, and they DO NOT fit the Highland Special loop. So I went with a "Light My Fire" Scout model (that's the smaller version of the Army model), and it fits perfect:

It took a little wiggling the first time on my Bravo 1.5, but fits great now that it's been in and out a few times.
