Ordered custom 20” 4 pound Ang Khola

I ordered a custom Full Tang 20” 4 pound Ang Khola Kukri with a dark Satisal Wood handle. It should take about one month to get it. Total price is $355 (because it is custom).

The only Kukri I have right now is one I purchased at the main market area in Gangtok, Sikkim India when I visited back in 2012. The Gangtok Kukri is mediocre quality. I assume the Himalayan Imports Ang Khola Kukri will be 1000 times higher quality. I heard Himalayan Imports makes the highest quality Kukris in the world!! I’m excited!!

As one who lives in India I agree with you that the local khukuris are uninspiring to say the least.

As a comparative newbie to Khukuris and HI I'm excited for you. With just 4 to my name (including an AK), I found myself enjoying the HIKV in short order on the first purchase itself (June '17).

Four pounds of ecstasy on its way to you... Godspeed.

Good for you, Viper. That will make a super chopper and will outlast your lifetime. HI blades are forged strictly by hand and not machine stamped like some khuks, so you will find a few minor flaws or errors as is normal, but your Ang Khola will still be King of the Hill over all other brands. There is no other khuk out there that comes with a lifetime guarantee against breakage if used as a crow bar. Consider it monies well spent.

Amko, it's good to see someone else suffers from the HI virus. Specifically, the KLVUK strain infected years ago and took an unrelenting death grip on me. I have a few custom khuks, (absolutely great ones, too) but my worker of choice is ol' Kesar Lal's creation over all others.
 
I had one about like that done maybe 6&1/2 years ago, my undisputed chopping king still. Basically you pick it up and let it fall on your target. Did you go standard (hidden Tang) or chiruwa?
