Ordered my first Becker! BK5

I just ordered my first Becker which was a BK5. I have 3 mods on my list to start. Strip the coating, reprofile the edge and reshape the micarta handles I have coming with it if needed. I like some of the patina ideas I have seen as well. I am thinking about upgrading the sheath as well. Does anybody do any Leather/Kydex hybrids? Did I mention I am very excited? I feel like I am forgetting something.

As for the sheath, well, there are a few around here that do a hybrid, MyWifeThinksImCrazy, or Nix Leather, Skystorm are a couple that jump to mind fast.

I love the BK5!! It's a great knife!

I make a leather kydex hybrid sheath, but I haven't done one yet for the 5. Making a sheath for the 5 is on my list of things to do next.

But to hold you over here is a pic of my hybrid sheath for a BK2.

Bk5 is where its at. The Becker sleeper. Mostly over looked by the masses looking for a hard woods knife (myself included). Until its in hand ya can't appreciate the timeless style with modern engineering. Its my favorite. As for patinas there are three I fancy. The good ole Fisk stripe (not really a patina but it looks damn cool)

I love that pic as well. You get both a great looking patina and the Fisk stripe. It's going to be my next Becker as well.

I am trying to save money for bills along with a Remington 700 Police .300 win mag and optics. Also need to save for a AR-15 MK18 10.3" barrel with ACC suppressor as well but at this rate it might be awhile. I had to have the BK5 though.
 
I got my BK5 and micarta scales. I have to smooth the scale out a little but I love the feel of this knife. I still have to strip it but I will post pics of it when I am done.
