Hey, guys I just ordered my first Becker, a BK14! I plan to try to use it as an edc for a while. I have never edc’d a fixed blade, I only have owned one to date a Buck 119 that I bought about twenty years ago, so I am pretty excited to try this one out.

Here is a list of mods I plan on doing to her:
Stripping the black coating
Forcing a patina
Making a set of scales from g10
And finally finding a nice kydex or leather sheath

Feel free to post picks of your BK14’s for my inspiration!

after you get some scales on there, if you find that you arent comfortable getting all 4 fingers on the handle. you can do what i did and put a lanyard knot on the back with some paracord.

thats about all i can say :P

oh yea, the factory zytel scales are great if you get too lazy to make your own, although they are a bit slick. (the knot on the back helps with that too :D)

Hey thanks for the tip, that’s what I’m afraid of lol
well, as long as you're in a situation where you know you wouldnt be able to use or carry larger knives, only half the becker line is extremely tempting XD although the others are still quite tempting....

By design, it is meant to be compact like that. Its a neck knife honestly, and designed to be small, but still capable of performing heavy chores. With that said, an extra finger on the handle makes all the dif in the world. Congrats friend.
