Ordered my first custom Buck 110 custom!

Just wanted to let the 110 fans know that I have not given up on the 110 even after my not too positive experience with the regular 110 clamshell one. I ordered a 110 with silver bolster, cherrywood, no rivets, polished 420HC blade and blade engraving last night. It is for my Dad on his retirement and has his name and 07 on the blade. What do you guys think? I was considering getting a fiji orangewood instead, did I make the right choice?

Any pictures of cherrywood or fiji orangewood 110's?

I will probably order the same for myself on Friday...

If it comes out really good, I am thinking of taking Joe Houser up on his offer of trying to work on my current 110 to make it look perfect. It has mismatched scales, scratched up bolsters and a sort of ghosting on the blade in certain parts...sort of hard to explain.

Did I make a good choice on the custom?

Opinions most welcome. :)
 
That should be a fantastic looking knife, Aza. Personally, I would prefer the Cherry to the Orange wood and the NS bolsters will set off the polished blade just perfectly. Good combo. :thumbup:

By the way, after I ordered, there was no confirmation number or print out page and I haven't received a confirmation email either. Is this normal? Does the knife just show up when it shows up?

here is a pic , kind of poor but it is what i had
i dont really care for the wood on this one

eta i would recommend the cherywood over the orange and ironwood would be even better
of the wood scales i have ironwood is my favourite followed by the charcoal colored ones then the rosewood and cherrywood
in the case you can see the charcoal top left further down is some cherrywood on the right is some rosewood and then the orange fiji wood

I ordered one just a few days ago and immediately got a confirmation e-mail. I did find out that if you enter your credit card number with spaces, it will cough up a hairball.
