Posted some questions recently about the Kirby Lambert Inferno, a knife I have been interested in for a while. Spoke to Kirby several times over the last week and decided on going with the Orion, a newer design of his. I prefer a slightly smaller knife.

He really is a great guy to deal with. He spent a lot of time emailing me various pics and ideas so I got exactly what I wanted. It is amazing to order a custom knife. I can't believe all of the options you have.

I ended up going with the Orion with black carbon fiber bolsters and black G10 handles, a single right handed thumb stud, stainless pocket clip and the teflon washers as opposed to the IKBS system (Not a fan of the super loose, and I love the smooth as butter feel.).

I am very excited about my purchase. There were very few pics of this knife anywhere. If anyone has an Orion, I'd love to see it. Wait time is roughly 6 months. Will be fun looking forward to it.

Thanks for all of the input and I'd be interested to hear thoughts about my choices, especially in regards to the washer system over the use of ball bearings.

Oh and this definitely won't sit in the safe. User for sure.

Congratulations Jack and welcome to the world of custom knives.
Six months is a relatively short time to wait for a custom knife order.
You certainly did your homework before selection/ordering which will usually
produce a knife which you will be pleased with for many years to come.
