I had dipped my toe in with a green G10 Bow River purchase last year. Entry level certainly, but a nice little fixed blade for camping overall.
I decided I'd like to try one of the folders and after reading reviews here and there I settled on the Para 3 Lightweight. I can't wait to get it, hoping the lack of liners doesn't make it feel cheap/flimsy.
Anyway, I'm exciting and needed to let it out. :p

The action on the LW Para 3s I've held has been great. They feel light but not flimsy, IMO.

I haven't seen a lot on BF about CPM SPY27 steel. I like s35vn which I've heard is very similar, so I'm hoping for good things.

I purchased para 3 lw about 3 weeks ago and hasn’t left my pocket since. Spy 27 is really good stuff , takes a scary edge, I like it about the same as my s45 vn para 3. I know there is talk about only 1 bushing and for some that is a deal breaker but that doesn’t amount to weakness in my opinion. Lots of talk about the Bugout, it has met it’s match, I will take this para3 lw spy27 over that any day of the week, enjoy and thanks for listening.Troy

It will be fairly light, but not flimsy. FRN is strong like G10 but weighs a lot less. Enjoy the knife.

Congrats on your purchase.

I just received a Native 5 LW and will concur with the others....the FRN scales do not feel flimsy at all. Very sturdy. In fact my knife has almost no detectable flex and zero blade play in either direction.

I bought my first one in 1987 I think. A spyderco economy. I loved that knife but talk about a brick. I ended up buying the first gen Ladybug when it came out in the early 90's because it was such a lightweight small knife that I could carry in a pair of jogging shorts, and it was tough enough to break down cardboard. I unloaded trucks and stocked overnight at a huge box retailer when I was in grad school in the early 90's.

Received it today.
First impressions: light-weight, fairly thin, easy open/close, well centered, lock-up is good.
I'm not yet sure about the FRN but it feels solid and I like the color more than I thought I would.
The only flaw I see is the bevel being somewhat uneven at the tip. This is a user, so I'm not too worried.
