I ordered my makers mark from Henry Evers. I guess that means I'm serious now. Should be here in two weeks. We'll compare how the real thing looks when I get it. Should look like this image that Chuck Burrows (wildrose) was kind enough to fix up for me. What ya think guys?

You know what TS would say----" why did'nt you carve it yourself? Bar of steel, a drimel, thats all you need" .............. TR could'nt get here before tomorow....jc

Yep John,

I can hear it already:D . I figured I need all the help I can get. Knives and such can look like crap, but the will look like professional made crap with that new stamp on em.

Outstanding Mark!!
I bought a stamp from Evers a couple three years ago and am very happy with it!
I never stamped my blades with it since I don't have a press or forge my blades and the pressure needed would be alot more than a hammer would supply. I do use it on my sheaths though. It's amazing how they make these steel stamps with such small letters and make them so crisp and sharp.

If you dont mind me asking - How much did it cost you to get your stamp made??
At the moment I am using 2 letter stamps and somtimes they can get a little out of alighnment
My next purchase that I was thinking of was a stamp.
EDIT
are these stamps suitable for a non forger?? They would work ok on anealed stainless?

snixon,
I've seen stainless blades stamped before. A retired maker that lives near me stamped his before heat treatment and they looked very nice.

The cost was $183. Kinda high but they are done by hand. we'll have to wait and see how this turns out before I pass judgement on worth it or not.
