The specs on HF site are wrong, the mill is actually identical to
http://www.grizzly.com/products/g0463

HF has it in stock, Grizz doesn't, at the moment (early Feb for X3, mid-Feb fo r Super X3).

Unfortunately for me, local HF stores don't carry it, otherwise I'd save a bunch (20-15%, plus no delivery charge).

As someone who owns, all HF: 4x6 bandsaw, mini-mill (X2), mini-lathe, 9x20 lathe, TiG, MIG, air compressor, grinder etc etc etc , I am not hesitant
at all to order another great tool from this great company :)

The reviews of this baby were all 100% positive. Tons of power, rigid, accurate and just the right size/weight/envelope for an HSM/knifemaker. There's also a number of companies that sell CNC kits for it ... but I will be handcranking it . All of my stuff are one-offs , never a production run :)

Will move my DRO from X2 to the X3 (already ordered 18" scale for X, others
I will reuse). All the tooling is r8, so every single one I bought for X2, will be perfect for X3.

Will fashion a spindle-stop, a-la Bport (same bracket will hold Z-axis scale). Will also move RPM-control to the front, as I am so used to it being there from me X2.

Although I will use it for general metalworking most of the time, having extra
power will come in real handy for when I mill more integrals :)

About the only thing I will miss from X2 is the ease with which the head can be moved up/down (spider-wheel and rack/pinion). With X3, one revolution of
Z-crank gets you 50 thou of vertical movement :( . May be I will motorize it. I will definitely motorize X-axis.

When it comes in, I will post more . Hopefully in 2 weeks or so.

Nevermind. Brainfart on my part, didn't read close enough.

I'll look forward to your report on the machine.
