Hello all, new to this forum, and wanted to thank you all for the vast knowledge that is available here.

I am a LEO in a large city and lost my primary knife, a Kershaw ( couldn't even tell you what model, it was a decent folder, half plain edge, half serrated, folder, fucking miss that thing.)

Its been awhile since the knife left me, i liked it alot, cut many a backpack of a perp. Recently i've found myself in need of a knife and asking people "hey do you have a knife" several times gets old, when i should have my own.

Searched high and low, all over this forum, for a knife that i believe would fit my needs. I decided this time around, i'd like to try a fixed blade, and wanted something a little bigger then the 3 inch blade my kershaw had. I needed something i could cut random things with, including sheet rock and all kinds of leather straps to bags, random string, even wood sometimes. You never know when you'll need a good knife.

I believe the SOG Seal Pup Elite should be a good carry knife. I ordered the model with the serrated edge at the last 1.5 inches of the blade, and i now need a sheath to attach to my duty belt. I believe the Nylon sheath that comes with it may be enough, but incase it isn't, i'd like to see a few more options. I checked out Survivalsheaths.com, great site, i may order a shoulder rig to wear under my jacket at work, but would prefer to have it on the belt. Can anyone steer me in the right direction.

thank you very much, i browsed the sheath section but i found it was more taylored to actually making the sheaths. Thank you for the help.

Sog has two kinds of sheath for the SEAL Pup design, there is a hard kydex one and a softer nylon one. Mine came with the softer nylon sheath, it has a front pocket that can fit a multitool and it can attach just about anywhere.

Just received my SOG Seal Pup Elite in Tiger stripe, awesome blade, and came really sharp out of the box. I was a little nervous that the knife might be to large for my taste, but once i took it out of the box i knew i made the right choice. This is going to be an excellent work knife.

Thanks bladeforums.com for all the great info you have around here. I can't wait to get this thing on my gun-belt and put it through its paces.

I have both the kydex and nylon sheaths for the sog seal pup elite. To tell you the truth, I enjoy the nylon one more. It is very very sturdy, has a very nice pouch on the front for my leatherman, and attaches well to any belt or MOLLE set up.

I have both sheaths as well, I use the nylon much more. my SOG Powertool goes in the front pocket, or my Swiss Army Rescue knife. And the Kydex tends to bite into my side when I wear it.

I have the kydex sheath which is attached to a velcro belt option, which I use to attach to the side of my maxpedition vulture II.
Ill add a picture later.
I personally like the kydex as I can feel the knife go into the sheath firmly and also it has the little notch for cutting wire/string etc without removing the knife.

How do you add pictures on here?

The best way is to upload it to a site like photobucket, then go to the picture and right click and select Copy image link location (or something similar).

In the box where you are composing your post here, click on the icon with the mountains (it'll say Insert Image if you "mouse over" it). Right click and paste the link into the box that appears and hit Ok (or whatever it is to confirm :p)
