Well today, after reading a few reviews, I decided to order the Kershaw ET. It has a 3.25" Sandvik combo edge, and was voted "Most Innovative American Knife" by Blade Magazine in 2005. Here is a video of how it works:

It is a money order so it should be here within maybe 2-3 weeks, hopefully less, and I will be sure to post a review when I get it.

I bought one at the Atlanta Blade Show this year. It's a lot of fun to play with but be careful until you get used to it. Otherwise you'll need a log of bandages.

Yeah, you can tell just from the way it opens and the position of the fingers in that video that it can be pretty dangerouse if you mess up.

Haha, I ordered one today also. I got the black blade with combo edge.

Mine should come in 3 days. I get express shipping.

Also, someone already worte a review of it. But If you're going to write one maybe I will too. :)

Well, you ordered it, I MONEY ordered it which means 2-3 days for them to get the money, a day or to for shipping, and maybe a week and a half or two weeks total.

I really haven't seen many rave reviews for the ET from many members on the forums. I've always liked the design and the locking mechanism feels incredibly secure. Congrats on the purchases you guys, this knife's on my "to eventually buy" list.

I have not been too thrilled with mine. It is awkward and uncomfortable to operate and all too easy to cut yourself with. I'm usually a big fan of Kershaw products, but I wish I spent my money on something else with this one. I hope that you are happier with yours.

Ok. Here is mine. I really like it. It is a bit gimmicky but once that wears off, your left with a pretty unique knife. I did however get 5 stitches in my leg from it, but that was not the knifes fault. I was just being careless. I carry it on a belt loop with the carbiner clip. Works great. Its sharp, saftey works well and fits good in my hand. I hope you like yours as much as I like mine.

Yeah, this is knife that looks like it can cut you. You can't really say getting cut is a downside on the knife, the same goes for any knife you are new to. Awkward is pretty reasonable, but I will tell you how I like it when I get it, hopefully within the next week or two.

Reading this post made me grab my ET and start playing with it. Half hour and a few beers past, and I just bought another one. Grey handle with rainbow blade. Hope I drank enough beer so its a suprise when it arrives.

I think it looks like it belongs in an ET's tentacle, not a human hand! :p

But I did get to play with one, and it's much more comfortable than it looks. Not hard to open and close safely, either, but I didn't do any tricks with it. The blade is nice and sharp and a good profile for fine cutting.

I'm just not tempted by something that looks like it would snag on anything it came in contact with.

That's funny! Hope you like your new E.T. I found it larger than I like to carry, though it is a unique design.

I'm actually really pleased with the ETs I've played with. It's a very useful blade shape, the on/off feature is nice for the included carabiner, the lock should be a tie for perfect reliability with the balisong, steel is decent, all for less than 60. And it has lots of toy factor too.
