This article from the New York Times gave me a chuckle.

Apparently the Dali lama is a bit tired, after thousands of years leading his people. He wants a little bit of rest and contemplating not reincarnating again in a new body after he dies. Apparently he is under a bureaucratic edict to do so anyways.

A strange twist on the things you're not able to avoid. Death, taxes,…

This is amusing and it doesn't surprise me.
I will miss his holiness when he leaves this life. I love listening to him teach and I love hearing his humor.
If I were him I'd gather a hammer and some salt blocks and send it to them with instructions in regards to their edict.

when they find his new incarnation, do they also present him with his unpaid tax bill (plus interest) for the last 15,000 years?
