What's to best way to go about getting a custom knife made? All I have is a picture of the knife im interested in and no other info... what route can I take?

Thanks

Find out who made the knife, or who does similar work. Post a photo here..

The blank supposedly came from a place called Kinards Kountry in Mississippi... I went to their website and didn't find anything.

I am completely new to custom knives and have no idea really what I'm looking for anyway.

Hi fatguy,

That's a well-known design: A drop point hunter with a single guard. One of the classic staples in the world of custom knives. Original design by Bob Loveless.

I just checked the Fixed Blades for sale section until I found what appears to be a similar version in stag (Sold), by TK Steingass.

You would not go wrong working with him; he's making great knives at affordable pricing.

Good luck and welcome to Bladeforums!

For fastest results just prowl the fixed blade for sale section here, you'll probably find what you're looking for a lot faster than a custom order would get done.

There are some good deals from some talented makers in the Forum: For Sale: Fixed Blades
But, you need to check the forum often and don't wait when you see one you like.
Things can move pretty fast. Especially ones by the more talented makers (most of the guys selling there).
Good luck and have fun with the hunt for your knife.
