If I had do pick a grail knife, it would be a large micarta Sebenza 21 with raindrop damascus. My question is, if I order direct from CRK will they do the same satin finish on the scales like a wood inlay one would have? Also, would they put in a blue double lug and blue lanyard pin? I'm not sure how much you can customize by direct ordering. Would this be possible?

You really need to call the CRK shop for the official word, but I think you can customize the thumb studs and other hardware , but not the finish on the micarta inlay slabs.

I also think this is correct. Won't hurt to call though.

Also, I know you didn't ask, but I don't think the Micarta version would look very good with polished scales. Of course thats just my opinion, which means little if you already know what you want.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you couldn't get the handle re-blasted like with the regular micarta finish. It and the plain models are the only ones you can do that with.

A raindrop damascus ordered directly from CRK could very well take a good bit of time. Something else to consider.

I asked once about getting a plain 21 with polished scales, the answer was no.

I sent an email to CRK but I probably wont hear back till Monday at the earliest. That's too bad they won't polish the scales. As a back up I am on the notification list for a small raindrop damascus 21 with carbon fiber inlay from bladehq. It's pretty much the same thing but I wanted the micarta over the carbon fiber.

If you watch a certain video it shows Lisa polishing a plain handle by just rubbing it with fine-grit sandpaper on a flat surface. No reason why you could not do that yourself especially with a plain handle.

And they will re-blast a micarta inlaid knife handle? I thought it was only plain handles...

I just got an email from heather at CRK. She said that they could make me a Sebenza exactly as I wanted, except they will not polish the scales on a micarta inlaid knife. Oh we'll, looks like its a carbon fiber inlay for me instead.
