Hello, everybody,
I decided to order my first Randall. I have too many questions therefore I would like to ask you, Randall knives owners, to help me to make the right choice.
In general, I would like to have knife as a collection item, but at the same time it should be functional. So far I am thinking to purchase a hunting knife because I do not think I will go to military service again, so I will not need a military knife. But anyway, which Randall knives, in your opinion, usually have higher chance to increase in price in future, military, survival, Bowie, outdoors, hunting or others?
Next question is the blade steel. What steel would you recommend for Britain and France? Probably I will take it to the sea, but very rarely.
I am interested more in knives that are good slicers. Is there real advantage to have 3/16" stock instead of 1/4" stock?
And last question, do all knives require a long waiting time? Could you tell me if there is large waiting time difference between knives with 3/16" stock and 1/4" stock?
Best regards,
