Ordering knives

Over the past couple of years I have found myself placing my knife orders at the end of the month. End of the month being my payday. Once bills are taken care of, savings is taken care of, living expensives taken care of, I have my knife money. For the last 6 months or so I have been deciding by mid month which knife, or knives, I want to get. My bills, savings, expensives all stay pretty much the same from month to month as does my paycheck, so I can figure what I have to spend on knives. So far it has worked out just fine. Also, if what I buy is under what I have to spend, then that goes over and is added to next months which allows for more knives, or maybe a more expensive one. This is what has happened currently so I have gotten my order in for the end of this coming month, and in two weeks I'll have 'em. What 'em is is a CRKT Hisshou, which I'm taking a chance on due to several good remarks I gotten here at BF from the thread in this forum. The second knife was going to be a Blade Tech MLEK Magnum in green G-10, but my dealer found out that the wholsaler he orders from was out. In a way I'm sorta glad as I wasn't too sure about this one anyway as I had gotten no responses on the thread I posted asking about it. What I have ordered in place of it is another Fallkniven PXL. This makes the 3rd PXL I have bought in the past year or so. The first one was the white micarta and it ended up being sold, the 2nd one was a maroon micarta and my son ended up liking it too much!, and now my 3rd one, and the one I hope to keep for myself, is also the maroon micarta version. Though it will be the shortest bladed knife I have in my "arsenal", I found the other two to be excellent cutters, slicers, and all around great knives, otherwise I would not go back for a third time!!:D

So, does anyone else have a certain procedure for ordering your knives, and if so, would you care to share.:)

If I don't feel guilty over buying it, then I can afford it.

Its like having an acute consumer version of the spider sense.

My bank takes each bank card purchase, and rounds up to the next dollar amount. That extra change goes into a savings account. I save that up until I find something that I just have to have, whether it's a $40 Buck, or a $400 dollar Chris Reeve. I just have to wait longer for the bigger purchases. That way, I don't dip into the budget for living expenses. This amounts to around $30-40 per month.

I've learned patience when it comes to buying knives. If I have to limit myself that severely, I only buy things that I've thought through, and never spend it on spur-of-the-moment things.
