I am about to order a friend some Mora laminated #1's. These will be a deployment gift. Can anyone tell me a good place to get them in a reasonable amount of time?
He doesn't like anything that's too heavy, in fact he uses an old paring knife to hunt with. I read about these knives in American Rifleman magazine (Jan '37). The only other knife he owns is an old Buck 309.

http://ragweedforge.com/ is a popular place around here....known for outstanding customer service. I would try there first.

Wow, we posted that at the same time. Ragnar is the man, customer service is outstanding and the best part is his passion for scandi blades, not to mention charging the same shipping for ANY size order.

I'll make it three, just so you'll be sure....

Ragweed Forge!

They are good. They, among other different Moras are used by the Swedish Military. Not that they are super duper rambo combat, but that they cost in bulk about 2 bucks each and does an extremely good job for that price.

If you happen to know anyone visiting Scandinavia as a tourist, or you know someone who knows someone etc. Just ask them to go to a Järnaffär (Ironstore), or hardwarestore. They are usually called things like Järnia, Bauhaus, Clas Ohlsson or Jula. There they can buy Mora knives in bulk. Sending a couple of them by mail is not that hard. Putting a bunch in the luggage might be OK as well.
If you are lucky you might know someone stationed in places like Kosovo, A-stan and other places where you might meet Swedish troops. Ask them for some knives.

odered one from bensbackwoods.com on friday, hasnt arrived yet but the prices were cheap and shipping was only 2.50$ to PA, so theres another option for you

Ragweed is awesome, I have ordered from there several times and I always get my blades within 2 days, great prices too.
