Just make sure you take yours out of the box. Mine is still sitting, unopened, as it has been for a couple of years. My lazy butt can't seem to get a place cleared for it! :(

J. do you have any info on heat coloring?[/QUOTE]

All I can really say is that the knives must be very very clean ever little smudge finger print and streak shows from a mile away. Scractchs show really well too. I put some pics of a couple of Jeff's knives in the gallery. Mine always have a big bloches or something that just makes the look messed up. But it can be done. one day I'll get it right .

That made me laugh! Mine is out of the box but still sitting on the porch after two weeks! I'll get my son or my knife making slave to help me get it set up this weekend, I have my first blade ready to go in it. I can't figure out where I'm going to put it either, I guess it's time for stands for the buffers to clear some bench space...but where am I gonna put the buffers?

I never thought about heat coloring in the oven, I've just been using a torch. That's gonna be fun!

Hey Danbo, I don't have much room in my tiny shop, but I think I've got enough room to help you get that thing out of your way :)

If you haven't opened it after YEARS, you really don't need it.

Let's make a deal.

Michael, my only suggestion is to give us other schlubbs who don't have HT ovens a good deal on HT'ing! I wouldn't mind playing with S30V, so why don't you get a recipe for that, and I also have some A-2 that I'd like to use, so figure that one out, too. Let me know the HT fees and we'll be all set! ;)
