Anyone out there carry an "Ordinary" pocketknife?

I usually carry a Schrade Old Timer 3-bladed Middleman Stockman in my left front pocket and a Schrade Old Timer 3 Bladed Junior Stockman in my right front pocket.

Course other times I might carry a Case Barlow, SAK, etc. depends on the circumstances.

Thanks.

I have a Delta-Z traditional lockback coming to me soon. No pocket clip...how strange.

My stag handled Bulldog canoe goes with me everywhere.

I just got in a few more slipjoints today. A Bulldog stag trapper that is absolutely SUPERB.....A stag congress....... another stag canoe for the wife......

Is there a "pattern" developing here?

I usually carry a Boker Orion in my pocket. Very light weight and easy to use one handed.

I usually carry a SAK rambler. I also carry an Old Timer Senior, or a Buck 301. And I have a Buck 112 or Camillus C-6 on my belt. And then, sometimes I carry a nice brown bone handled Case trapper, with CV steel. All "ordinary" knives, if what you mean are everyman knives that most people can afford.

I recently began carrying a stockman in my left front pocket open open mail, etc. I bought an Uncle Henry King Ranch model a few days ago and it is very nice.

I usually have an Eye Brand stockman, Kissing Crane canoe, or Boker stockman on me, and I sometimes rotate through a Case stockman.

I recently got into slipjoints again and I do appreciate all the patterns that they come in but when it comes to EDC, I prefer a one-hander. I am just used to easy opening. Two hands is an inconvenience to me now that I'm used to holes and studs. I like clips also even though I don't find them necessary.

I love slipjoint knives. I carry a Buck 709 Yearling two-blade slipjoint to work. When I don't have to be wearing dress pants, it's either an Old Timer Middleman Jack that was given to my grandfather shortly before he died, or a Victorinox Spartan. Or my Spyderco Endura lightweight.
I've started thinking about picking up a 3-blade stockman that's 3.5", with bone or wood or stag handles (no plastic), with rounded serpentine bolsters, good steel, and without a lot of writing all over the blade/s (i.e. no Boker Tree Brand). It's proving to be a hard-to-find combination.

I love traditional as well as modern one-hander knives. The slipjoint knives I carry most often are a black Victorinox Classic (my most-used/visible knife when at work as a real-time captioner), and maybe a SAK Tinker or maybe a Buck 309 2-blade pen knife in another pocket. I get a lot of use out of the slipjoint pocketknives, but I also almost always have at least one one-hander on me too (lately a BM 550 in the waist pack, and a SS-handled Spyderco clipped to the right pocket). The one-handers stay out of sight when at work. Some type of slipjoint pocketknife accompanies me everywhere.

While I want to try a Buck one of these days, am determined to shortly get myself one of the Camillus Carbon Series Trappers. The article in the latest TK (or Blade) convinced me it has to be a seriously good knife, and it costs about $23 max.

My favorite traditional knife patter is the trapper. I carry one quite often. The saber blade has a utility edge and the spey blade is fine scapel sharp. The knife I always have with me is one of several SAKs I own. I just need a one hand trapper and I would be very happy:)

Cheers,

ts

I always have my yellow handled Case stockman with me. I'm a sucker for traditional stuff. I also enjoy providing the extra care that the CV blades require - gives me more opportunities to fiddle with the knife.

I always have my Schrade Old Timer 12OT Pal in one of my pockets, and I usually have my yellow handled Case Baby Butterbean too but I'm very disappointed in Case's quality. I have an amber bone Case Canoe that I would love to carry regularly but it has blade alignment problems. I should send it back to the factory.
