Hi all,
I know Fallkniven mods are nothing new, but this is my third mod and I'm pretty proud of how it came out so I wanted to share it with someone. Anyone. You know the feeling.
There are a few imperfections that are really bothering me, so I may fix them once the sun comes up again.
The knife.
You can see a bit of the contours I put in the handle.
Crazy burl. Looks like a bunch of stomata.
Gratuitous final photo.
I often see Fallknivens with cool handles but had only seen them sold with Thermorun handles on. I suddenly saw F1 blanks for sale at Knifeworks and jumped on it--kind of odd that it costs more than a finished F1, and it wasn't even finished that well, with an unsquared and unpolished tang, leading me to believe all F1s are like that under the handles. So why more expensive?
I had fun doing this anyway. Took all day. And the popular shape and size is great since it fits in a sheath I had made for a Busse CABS, and I don't doubt it wouldn't fit in a Bark River Bravo sheath either.
Thanks for looking!
