does anyone have one of these grinders? His Ebay ratings are perfect and talked to one other person who bought one and said it was great. I was thinking about buying the 2x72 combo with a 1.5 hp motor and then buying the platform you can mount it all on, a swivel work rest for the angels, a tool steel platen for it and a rubber wheel. My 4x36 belt grinder isn’t doing what I need too and this has seemed liked the best option, with good reviews. Just looking for more insight will attach a link of all the items for you all to see if I need anything else or I’m missing something. Thank you

From what I hear most people are pleased with them, but if you add all that up you aren't too far away from a pheer or esteem with a vfd.
Might be worth saving a bit longer for a heavier grinder with variable speed.

I bought my Oregon grinder something like 9 months ago, and am totally happy with mine. Some free advice - first and foremost; get a good sealed VFD and 3 phase sealed motor. I know it is extra money, but it is the best next money you will spend after the grinder itself, I promise. If it were me, I would delay the wheel and the swivel work rest if that helps you get the vfd and 3 phase motor (I don't have either yet and make do fine, although one of those wheels is on my short list for the future. The swivel rest isn't all that necessary, imo, but that is just me). I also did not get the base plate, I just mounted mine to a double stack of MDF.

Hey Neighbor!
Yes, I'm sure that motor/vfd setup is just fine. However technically for less $ than they offer that setup I bought the higher-end KBAC-27D (enables more HP, probably other options) and a 1.5hp motor. you just need to source some cabling and connections between them. I just did a lot of reading on the forums and went that way. I started out ordering the KBAC-24D, but returned it as soon as it came in and swapped for a 27D.

you can connect either one of those VFDs (24 or 27D) to 110V (max 1hp on 24) but only the 27D can do both 110V and 220V and higher horsepower on 220. There are some links to where I bought my vfd and motor in the thread I put on here (not a package but separately). I have never bogged mine down, but many hobby-oriented people use 110v/1Hp and are ok. I have 220 access in my shop, so that is the path I went.
