my buddy bonz n i hit the coast last week. this particular trail is called cape lookout. its a 5 mile out n back(2.5 mile in...2.5 mile out...) in the three capes area of the oregon coast southwest of tillamook. possibly my favorite section of the oregon coast. the woods here are full of fatwood rich stumps. tho this trip didnt harvest any. it is state park land and there were a few folks out. had the esee 6 with which woulda made pretty short work outta grabbing a few chunks. but its a pretty big knife to non-knife folks and since bonz is 6'6" and with his bald head and crazy way of looking at ya...well, just thought id avoid any hassles this day.

Great photos! I have been on that trail many times! We have some great country out here.

no place has ever nourished me like oregon...mind, body and soul
(and ive traveled fairly extensively over the last 50 yrs)
started this life in oregon(gold beach) and will be here till the end of this one too

Thanks for the pics. Oregon is one of the few states I've never visited. I'll definitely have to get there soon.

Beautiful scenery. The photo of the shellfish is both well executed and fascinating. Thanks for posting.

Looks like a beautiful place. We spent some time in Oregon some years ago in the center of the state, in and around Bend. Loved it there.

sweet views! i wish we had trails that were near the ocean here.

Love that trail. Hiked it the first time in1959. That hike included going over the end down into the huge cave in the end. It takes some scrambling. I have hiked it several times since.

+1 I love Oregon, my favorite state. Stirs up memories (your pics). BD

Thanks for sharing. I travel this great country and there truly is no place like home. I'd rather be on the Oregon Coast than any where else in the world.
