Went to the Fair tonight and I was shocked at what I saw there! In the big room with the crafts in it there were some displays of stuff made by folks from Oregon and they had been judged. There on one rack was a sweet looking dagger with a blue ribbon on it!!!!!!! About 8in of black double edged steel with an aluminum guard and wood scales under a samurai style wrap. Couldn't believe any knife let alone a full on dagger got to be on display in public. Guess I have been slowly trained to accept that those sort of things just weren't right for polite society. I turned a couple aisles over and in the Lego disply was another cool award winner.......an H&K UMP made outa Legos!!!!!! Even had a Lego 30rd mag and it was a full auto model :) I was simply blown away but in a very good way :D Sure wish I had brought the camera :( When we left the building we were headed over to the rock climbing wall for the kids and we noticed something else that had me simply speechless.......they were running a shooting range at the Fair! Pellet guns only but still real shooting at the Fair! With all the worries about a possible Democrat in the office and all the talk of the return of the weapons bans, I was sure proud of my state's Fair this year :D

It made my day a while back when I walked into a K-Mart for some quick item and found that the sporting goods section still sold rifles and shotguns.
