Today’s hike was with Jay and Juicy G.
Harriman in New York where the weather was sunny with a chance of Oreos!
The hike in was a little drier than normal despite the heavy rain from a couple of days ago. One thing was for sure, the frogs were out.
The trip was full of scenery, good weather, food (as always), a vampire, amphibian animals, knives, and lots of juices flowing.

I’m pretty sure Predator was up to his same old tricks. We saw him and said, hey there’s Predator again. Yeah, whatever!

Enough Water

This little guy was hiding in the charcoal of an earlier fire. He seemed a little lazy and even though I was about to start a fire he was like…yeah whatever!

Log Cabin for a fire that can be lit and then left alone…Produces hot coals fast.

Dollar General Store Saw

I few months ago I did an article for SWAT on survival saws. Used a Corona, Bahco, Silky, and a cheap Dollar General saw I picked up in Georgia. The Silky was out because the tip broke and the company wouldn’t make good on it…yeah whatever!

It sure was entertaining to see this spider try to use the saw.

Preparing the meat…pokes the holes in the hotdog!

Keeping it Juicy…G

Grill man

He prefers rock cutting boards

My last Japanese Miso SOUP

Woodsman’s Kitchen

I went with the well done sausage

Then this mini-VAMPIRE guy climbed out of a stump
Any ideas what he is?

I went to play with the frogs

One was especially annoyed with me as I stalked him…

Evan underwater he was no match for my camera.

Bacon was ready and perfect

Still, Jay preferred kukri fried to rock fried…who could blame him?

Desert was a Japanese sweet bean snack…

The main course was OREO BACON and pretty much the reason we were all there in the first place.

Hike out

Then the trail suggested another path…which I took. Soon we were up to our necks in thick brush.

Out came the big blades…

Until Next Adventure!

my goal for the trip was to see which chopper i preferred - scrapyard knives' sykco 1311.

...or the cold steel kukri.

to me they were pretty evenly matched in chopping power but i preferred the sykco's rubber handle - it absorbed a lot of the shock.
