Orginal Price of ZTs

The set of three cost me about $700. Then I ordered the set of three First Postion Sheaths for $99. So far, I have received the ZT-NO knife, with the NO sheath.

So far I have received Zero To date knife on my Satin Jack order and NO sheath!

I hear ya man, I'm with you on this one!:(

I think I paid 289.00? for the ZT BM. Plus 40.00 for sheath.

I'm looking foward to seeing it within three to five times the projected delivery date.:D Just like all of my other ones.

I have never understood why a company would give a delivery date WAY too early time after time. I don't mind the wait IF you tell me when my knife will be here give or take a couple weeks.

According to my credit card statement, on June 19 Busse charged my account $233.95 for the ZT NO, and a few days later another $70 for two (yes I ordered 2) sheath. I'm still waiting for it :(

If you guys are tired of waiting, I'm sure some of us dummies who missed the boat could help you out...:)

I ordered a ZT NO in june and have been hearing two weeks ever sence the way this is going i may sell it before I get it.

I bought mine in June. Bought the sheaths the moment they were actually offered on the website. IF I ever receive the whole set, I think I may sell them all -- assuming a crashing economy doesn't prevent their increase in resale value -- and use the profits to finance a CG Busse or two.

My first Busse took over a year, from a promised delivery of about two months, tops. I said I'd not buy more unless they were in my hands at the time. I broke that self-imposed rule when I ordered the ZT set, so I am really pissed off at myself.

Just FYI:

If a company offers a product through the U.S. Mail, and it is ordered by sending a check or credit info through the U.S. Mail, that company WILL within 30 days deliver either the product or a card offering choice of backorder or refund -- or the FTC will squash said company like a bug under a sledgehammer. There are precedents.

This protection does not apply to telephone or Internet orders.

My conversations with Jerry Busse, both a couple of phone calls and here on the forums, lead me to believe he's a really straight guy, truly dedicated to making and delivering the best knives in the world. I can't help wondering if he's got a bad egg somewhere in the organization. Charging a customer's credit card before the product is shipped (sometimes a year before) is not generally accepted as an ethical business practice. I find it hard to believe Busse Combat is in dire financial straits and doing desperate things; customers are clamoring to buy everything they offer.

Can someone please show me where I'm wrong?

:) Geez, I hope Jerry and the crew take all the time they need for my set. I am willing to wait a long time for a perfect set of these knives.

I am waiting on several knives and I don't like waiting either. But knowing that Jerry and the Crew are now busy working on Military orders, I will gladly wait. I would much rather have them putting knives in the hands of the servicemen than worrying about completing my order on time.

The delay is perfectly justified, this time. Priority should go to the Military. Noone who would value a Busse would argue with that, I hope. But, with all due repect to Jerry, and that is alot of respect indeed, that does not explain the credit card charges. It sounds like a mixup due to exceptional circumstances. Maybe a call or email to the folks at Busse will do the trick?

I've only made three orders (Steelheart late in '99, ZT set in June 2001, ZT sheath set June 2001), and each of those have been charged to my card immediately upon ordering.

Three is a miserably small statistical sample. Could we take a small impromptu survey?

BTW, I am NOT whining at all about military orders bumping civilian orders. I'm talking about a business practice.

Not a practice a company with a backlog like Busse's should really engage in.My experience with the aftershock I ordered and never got(did get a refund eventually)soured me sufficiently to miss the ZT's entirely, anybody gets tired of waiting let me know,I'll buy your BMZT and wait it out.Jerry must be an optimist of the first order,I really don't believe he intends to give anyone false information but I know of many people who're going elsewhere for this reason alone.

Likewise, I know people who have turned away from Busse, despite believing they are fantastic knives. I really like my Steelheart. But if I want a heavy duty knife immediately, I know I'd better order a Cold Steel Trailmaster. I sure wish we could somehow help Jerry take a page from AW Direct, a wrecker and service truck supplier in California. When I order from them, it's on my doorstep in 2-3 working days, and that's not a rush order. Same-day shipping is the norm. If Busse Combat Knives could do that, well... with Jerry's designs and INFI, he might take over the knife world. ;)

You guys are making it kinda tough to stay away. The outpouring of love is almost too much for me. ;)

We have experienced several delays in the manufacturing process of late that have been noted elsewhere. However, we do see light at the end of the tunnel. In November, we will be announcing a ship date guarantee that should solve most of these issues. This new program, coupled with the recent crush of military orders, is one of the main reasons that I am going to be off of these boards for a while, so please remain patient. . . . .

Now, let me see, where did I put Lane's blade?. . .hmmmm, I put it down somewhere so that I could respond to this post. . . . Where in the. . . . ? Ahh, there it is, right next to Nimrod's Satin Jack. . . . ;)

Stay tuned. . .Stay patient. . . Stay addicted to INFI.

Thanks in advance for your nuclear patience,

Jerry Busse

Averageguy has a point.

At least Jerry is not rushing production.

So many companies when faced with such a high demand for their product rush production and quality goes to crap.

.................And Jerry sure anit doing that;)

Hey, at least everyone loves Jerry and his knives. ;) And we've guessed Busse Combat Knives is busy as all hell right now. We just don't want to see it go the way of many... Early Winters comes to mind... a really cool company selling outdoor products, great little tents, neat candle lanterns, etc -- and originally a one man show, too -- Bill Nicolai didn't keep close enough control of the business end; so this wonderful company died of uncontrolled growth, and its loyal customers had to suffer the ignominy of seeing Orvis buy the name and use it to peddle things nobody wanted.

We wanna see Busse on TOP, rated #1 for quality & durability, and rated above L.L. Bean for service. :D

Lane

oops, this time I forgot to bitch about the mythical folder... :p

The military doesent need Busse knives as much as us civies, they have guns, radios, artillery and F-15Es.
This war needs the involvment of the civilians more than any other due to the severe domestic threat. Our Gov't has yet to understand this. Civies are controlled regarding what we are allowed to own therefore need every edge we can get.
That said, thanks for shipping my knife Jerry

This --- it's hard to call it a "war" because we've not declared against any particular country, but whatever it is --- this "struggle" needs military AND civilians more than past wars. This time, it's not just the G.I.'s "over there" who will take casualties. Our civilians will be hit on our own home turf. I sure hope we have the WILL to keep at it, take it to the terrorists. Our teams will eventually take them out.

You're right, the military has far less restrictions on weaponry than civilians. And it's likely to get worse. As those two quarter mile-high towers collapsed, I was pretty sure I heard the rumble followed by a giant flushing sound -- the remaining shreds of our civil liberties going down the toilet. Time will tell. One GOOD piece of news is that gun sales are up 40% or more. Since I'm counting on the the soldier out there, I do not begrudge him his wish to have a nuclear-tough knife, even if that delays the rest of my ZT order. I whine and bitch about unrealistic delivery dates being quoted, but I won't complain about the G.I.'s.

Lane

Oh yeah: WHERE'S THE FOLDER??? Had to get that one in. ;)
