Origanal Numbered Sog Bowie

Just wanted to show everyone some Sog history. This is my Sog Bowie I bought new. It is one of the first 500 numbered pieces produced. It has the original Sog Specialties logo and California
address.

Shown with an original Team Leader. Both are mint and unused.

There is conflicting information out there about the total number of original “serialized” Bowies.
The pictures of your knife really helps us better understand more about these SOG company knives.

These are the first two knives produced by SOG. As you can see the logo is much different than the square logo everyone is used too. After the first 500th Bowies the logo was changed to the square one. I have seen serialized Bowies numbered in the 500th's and higher with the square logo. These two knives represent the start of SOG Specialties.
 
Yes I agree. What I'm not sure of is the final total number of serialized SOG S1's. IMHO I've come to believe that the first 500 were the original intention. There is a good bit of conjecture as to how many times they increased the total number and if it was 750 or 1000 or more. I've got a later (non-serialized) Santa Monica S1 in near new condition which spends it's days in a display case. I also have seen a couple of knives that I suspect may have been numbered after they were originally purchased. It's funny I live about 2 miles from the headquarters and no one there that I've talked to knows much about them.
 
It is funny that no-one knows, sac. I was hoping to get an exact number of Team Leaders produced and haven't found out much. All I came up with was somewhere near 300.
 
Hey bozack, I have the same two knives, my bowie is #0151, but I have no sheath for the Team Leader. I was wondering what their value might be?
 
Those are excellent pieces! Man, the original Team Leader was one funky knife!

I am not sure of the values. I guess it is what someone is willing to pay. I have seen both sell on ebay for over $600.00. I think they should be worth more. If more solid information on production numbers could be found out then the price could be nailed down better.
