Can anyone tell me the origin of this old folding knife? Emblem says “Woman’s Home Companion-The American Magazine Colliers”

It's 2:30am central, and I may be the only other person online, and I'm an idiot.

However, pictures would help even this slack-jawed yokel get a better idea of what you have.

You can upload photos to a hosting site like imgur and upload them that way. There's a useful link for it around here somewhere. I'll try to find it for you.

Edit: I done diddly did founded it!

Considering it sounds like a promotional item made for ladies I'd bet it's a small single-bladed folder, aka "sewing basket knife" but this is strictly a guess. Promo items like this were popular in the 20th century, especially about 1930-1970 and are still made today.

The scales appear to be made of celluloid, which is beginning to crack and out-gas. This out-gassing releases caustic fumes that can rust and damage the steel parts of the knife, and any other knives that you have stored near it, so I'd advise you to keep it in an open area away from other valuables.
If there's a stamp on the blade, it may tell what cutlery company made the knife, and possibly its age.
