Anyone know how Busse's "2 weeks" time started? Was it something Jerry said? Just curious!

Not sure if anyone know's that one...I know I havn't been around long enough to even guess.
Maybe Skunk will come by...I would bet he knows, or would have a really good answer anyway

It's from the old days of LOOOOOOOOONG wait times. I am a relatively new piglet... I started with the SFNO ordering period which was the first offering under the new production protocol. Back in the day...whenever that was... it was common to wait for a year for a knife I guess. People would call the shop for status and were often told "Two Weeks" until a knife was done. I believe this was conveyed with the best of intentions (and they were probably also a little looser with their interpretation of the calendar back then). Things have improved by leaps and bounds but the joke persists and is even experienced to a lesser degree at times.

We are pretty spoiled with speedy delivery, options and variety these days by comparison. It's a great time to be a Busse customer

I thought it was a reference to the movie "Money Pit" where all the contractors working on the old house promise to finish in "two weeks."

I remember a discussion at Blade a couple back, Jerry and one of the pant's makers, who was struggling trying to keep up with all the orders he was getting.

Jerry's comment was, "easy, just tell them it'll be 2 weeks" LMAO, almost had an accident right there on the main floor.

Must be a marketing tool.

I think Dunner has it right, but I'll bump the "time" back to the days of the Ergo line release...I seem to remember that the joke may well have been born about that time if not "two weeks" before.

Of course, after all the Kydex fumes (Cl) and sharp blows to the head, I may well have it wrong.

My take is that Boss Hog will say something will happen in "Two weeks" and it actually takes longer, much longer. Just a running joke around here.

Fore example, the Sus Scrofa was supposed to be up for sale for only "four weeks" and they they have been offered since 5 May (8 weeks now). LOL

Back in the beginning of January 1999, I placed a ten knife order with Busse knives.

Credit card was charged, I was told ten to twelve weeks till delivery.

Fast forward six Months, I call and ask when I might actually expect delivery?

"Two Weeks" I was told.

Eventually(October 17) I receive about half of my order.

I get the other half, picked up in person in Las Vegas at the Fall 1999 Preparedness Expo.

After that I did not ever expect two weeks to mean anything other than "It will Ship When it Ships"
